The Strongest Woman I Know
my mom raised my siblings and me as a single mom. she has worked full time her entire life and she is the strongest person I know. I don't think I fully understood what she sacrificed until I became a mom myself and now I'm like... how did you DO that?? hahah.
What She Taught Me
she taught me that love isn't about having everything figured out. it's about showing up every single day even when it's hard. especially when it's hard. she never had a manual or a partner to tag team with and she still made us feel like the most loved kids in the world.
The Surprise
my mom's reaction is my favorite thing and she deserves everything good in this world. I love being able to give back to her now. she spent her whole life giving to us and it's the greatest honor to be able to spoil her a little bit. she always says she doesn't need anything but she deserves everything :,)
How It Shapes My Parenting
because of my mom I know that kids don't need perfection. they need presence. they need someone who shows up and tries their best and loves them fiercely. that's what she gave me and that's what I try to give Stella, Ozzy, and Cherry every day.
to all the single moms out there — you are incredible. you are enough. your kids see everything you do and one day they'll understand just how amazing you are ❤️ I love you mom :,)
