Ten Years, Two Kids, and a Baby on the Way: Our Wild Ride to Forever

Okay, you guys. Can you even believe it?! It’s been a whole DECADE since I married my best friend, Tanner. Ten. Years. I’m freakin out a little bit just typing that out hahah. It feels like yesterday and a million lifetimes ago all at once, you know? And this anniversary? It hits different. Like, really different. Bc instead of planning some fancy trip to Bora Bora (which, ngl, was totally my dream scenario for a 10-year anniversary back in the day), we’re literally just here, waiting. Waiting for our sweet baby Cherry to make her grand entrance any. single. day. now.

And honestly? It’s better. So much better than any tropical paradise I could’ve ever dreamed up. Getting to meet the newest member of our family, our third little girl, is the most incredible anniversary gift we could ever ask for. It’s wild how your priorities shift, how your dreams evolve, and how the 'perfect' picture you had in your head just gets completely blown out of the water by something so much more real and beautiful. I wouldn't trade this for anything in the world. :,)

Our First Dance, Our Forever Song

I was looking back at old wedding photos today, just getting all nostalgic and sappy, and it brought me right back to our wedding day. I remember everything so vividly. The nerves, the excitement, the way Tanner looked at me, and that moment when we had our first dance. Our song was “Til Kingdom Come” by Coldplay. And it’s still, to this day, my absolute favorite. It just… it gets me, you know? The lyrics, the feeling of it. It’s about forever, about being there through everything, through the good times and the hard times, until the very end. And that’s what we promised each other then, and that’s what we’ve been living every single day since.

It’s funny how a song can just stick with you, how it can bring back all those feelings from a moment in time. Every time I hear it, I’m right back in Tanner’s arms, feeling like the luckiest girl in the world. And even now, ten years later, with two amazing girls running around and another on the way, I still feel like the luckiest girl in the world. He’s still my person, my rock, my biggest hype man. And he still puts up with all my crazy ideas and my freakin indecisiveness hahah. I love him sm.

From Young Love to Family Life: The Journey

Ten years is a long time, you guys. We were practically babies when we got married! I mean, we were young, we were in love, and we thought we knew everything. Spoiler alert: we knew nothing! Hahah. But that’s the beauty of it, right? Getting to figure it all out together. We’ve grown up together, we’ve changed, we’ve learned so much about ourselves and about each other. We’ve moved, we’ve built our dream home, we’ve started businesses, we’ve had two incredible little girls, Stella and Ozzy, who light up our lives in ways I couldn’t have ever imagined. And now, we’re about to add another little light to our family with Cherry. It’s been a whirlwind, a crazy, beautiful, messy, wonderful whirlwind.

I think the biggest thing I’ve learned over these ten years is that love isn’t just a feeling. It’s a choice. It’s choosing your person every single day, even when it’s hard, even when you’re tired, even when you’re arguing about who left the dishes out (it’s usually me, don’t tell Tanner I said that hahah). It’s about showing up, being present, and always, always having each other’s backs. And it’s about laughing. Oh my gosh, we laugh so much. Tanner makes me laugh harder than anyone else, and I think that’s one of the secrets to our happy little life.

The Best Is Yet to Come (Literally!)

So, here we are. Ten years down, and a whole lifetime to go. And honestly, I feel like the best is truly yet to come. With Cherry joining our family any minute now, it feels like we’re on the cusp of a brand new adventure. A new chapter, a new dynamic, new sleepless nights (send coffee, pls!), and new memories to make. I can’t wait to see Tanner as a dad to three girls. He’s already the most amazing girl dad to Stella and Ozzy, and I just know he’s going to be absolutely smitten with Cherry. He’s so good with them, so patient, so loving. He’s everything I could’ve ever dreamed of in a partner and a father to my children.

I’m so grateful for every single moment we’ve shared, for every challenge we’ve overcome, and for every laugh we’ve had. And I’m so excited for everything that’s still ahead of us. For all the firsts with Cherry, for watching Stella and Ozzy grow up, for all the family adventures we’ll go on. It’s going to be wild, I know it. But I wouldn’t want to do it with anyone else but him. My heart is so full, I could just burst. :,)

You’re my best friend, my soulmate, and the love of my life. I couldn’t imagine doing any of this without you. You make our house a home, and you make my world a better place.
