Okay you guys, can we just talk about Steamboat Springs for a hot second?! Because WOW. I mean, I've heard amazing things, but actually being here with Tanner and the girls? It's just something else entirely. We just wrapped up day one and I'm already like, 'can we just move here?' hahah. Seriously though, this town is pure magic, and I just had to share all the deets from our first day of mountain adventures.

You know how much I love a good family trip, and finding places that truly feel like home away from home is always the goal. Steamboat delivered that and then some. From the moment we pulled in, there was just this chill, happy vibe that instantly made us all relax. And let's be real, with three littles, 'relax' isn't always the first word that comes to mind on vacation, am I right? :,)

First Impressions & Settling In

So, we rolled into town, and the first thing that hit me was the fresh mountain air. It's just different up here, you know? Crisp, clean, and instantly makes you feel like you can breathe a little deeper. The girls were already buzzing in the car, pointing out every tree and little stream we passed. Stella was like 'Mommy, are we gonna see a bear?!' and Ozzy was just giggling, probably dreaming of all the snacks we packed hahah.

Getting settled into our place was super easy. We always try to find somewhere that feels cozy and has enough space for everyone to spread out a bit. After a quick unpack (or rather, a quick 'throw everything on the bed' situation, bc that's just how we roll), it was time to explore! I love that feeling of stepping out into a new place and just seeing what the day brings. We didn't have a super strict itinerary, which is my favorite way to travel with the kids. It just lets us follow their lead a bit more, and honestly, those are always the best memories.

Adventures Around Town

Our first mission was just to wander. We found this adorable little main street with so many cute shops and places to grab a bite. The girls were obsessed with this one toy store, and ngl, I might have picked up a little something for myself too hahah. Tanner was just happy to be out and about, soaking in the views. He's such a mountain man at heart, so I knew he'd love it here.

We walked along the river for a bit, and the sound of the water was just so peaceful. Stella and Ozzy were throwing little pebbles in, and Cherry was just chilling in her carrier, taking it all in. It's these simple moments, you know? Just being together, present, and enjoying the beauty around us. I couldn't imagine anything better.

Fueling Our Fun with Chomps!

Okay, so here's the real MVP of our day: Chomps! You guys know we're always on the go, and finding snacks that are both healthy AND that everyone actually wants to eat can be a challenge. Especially when you're out adventuring all day. We were walking past this little pop-up, and guess what? It was a Chomps sampling station! I was like, 'YES! My people!'

We already love Chomps at home. They're seriously the best for a quick protein boost, and I feel good about giving them to the girls bc they're made with real ingredients and no junk. But having them right there, fresh off the grill almost, after all our walking? Heaven on earth fr. The girls each grabbed one, and Tanner was all about it too. It was the perfect little pick-me-up that kept us going for the rest of our afternoon explorations. No hangry meltdowns, which is always a win in my book! I love that they're at Ikon Resorts now too, so if you're hitting the slopes or just exploring like us, keep your eyes peeled for them!

Evening Vibes & Family Time

After all that exploring and snacking, we headed back to our place for some chill time. We cooked a simple dinner together – nothing fancy, just something easy that everyone would eat. There's something so comforting about making a meal together, even when you're away from home. It just feels like us.

Then it was bath time for the girls, which is always a chaotic but sweet part of our day. Lots of splashing, lots of giggles, and then finally, snuggles and stories. Watching them drift off to sleep, all tired and happy from a day full of new experiences, just fills my heart. I sat there for a bit, just watching them, thinking about how lucky I am to have these three little humans and my amazing husband by my side. It's moments like these that I just want to freeze forever :,)

Tanner and I ended the night just chatting, planning out what we might do tomorrow, but mostly just reflecting on how much fun we had. He's my rock, you guys. Always up for an adventure, always making me laugh, and the best dad to our girls. I couldn't do any of this without him. We're already looking forward to more mountain magic tomorrow!

Why Steamboat Springs is a Must-Visit for Families

If you're looking for a family-friendly destination, I honestly can't recommend Steamboat Springs enough. Even if you're not a big skier (which, let's be real, with three little ones, our ski days are a little different these days hahah), there's so much to do. The town itself is charming, the people are so friendly, and the natural beauty is just breathtaking. It's the kind of place where you can make amazing memories without feeling rushed or stressed.

We're only just getting started, but day one has already set the bar super high. I'm so excited to see what else this beautiful place has in store for us. And you know I'll be sharing all the behind-the-scenes on my stories and here, so stay tuned for more Steamboat adventures! Don't forget to look for Chomps at your Ikon Resorts too – seriously, they're a lifesaver for those busy days!

Sending all my love from the mountains!

XOXO,

Lo ❤
