Our Dreamy Porsche Maternity Shoot: More Than Just a Car, It's a Moment!!

You guys. YOU GUYS. I'm still just floating on cloud nine thinking about these pictures. If you saw my recent post, you know we did a maternity shoot, and not just any maternity shoot – a maternity shoot with a Porsche!! I know, I know, it sounds a little wild, but trust me when I say it was everything I ever dreamed of and more. And honestly, it wasn't even about the car itself as much as it was about the feeling, the moment, and getting to capture this incredibly special time in our lives in a way that felt so uniquely *us*.

I mean, when Tanner and I first talked about getting a Porsche together, it was one of those things that felt like a huge dream, you know? Like, is this even real? And then when it actually happened, it was this crazy pinch-me moment. We’ve worked so hard for everything we have, and getting to share these big milestones, big dreams, with each other is just the best. And then, as I got further along in this pregnancy with our sweet Cherry girl, I started thinking about maternity photos. I always want them to be special, to reflect where we are as a family, and to just feel authentic. And then it hit me: what if we incorporated the Porsche?!

Tanner was totally on board, of course. He's always my biggest hype man, always down for whatever crazy idea I come up with, even if it means posing with a fancy car hahah. He just gets it, you know? He understands that these moments, these memories, are everything to me. And honestly, they're everything to us. We want to look back at these photos years from now and remember not just how big my belly was, but the excitement, the joy, the dreams we were chasing together.

Finding Our Vision (and Our Amazing Photographer!)

Once I had the idea, the next step was finding the perfect photographer who could really bring this vision to life. This is SO important, you guys. You need someone who understands your vibe, who can capture those candid, emotional moments, and who isn't afraid to get a little creative. We've worked with @erinnortizphotoandfilms before, and I just knew she was the one. Her work is just breathtaking, and she has this way of making you feel so comfortable and natural in front of the camera. I told her my crazy idea about the Porsche, and she was immediately excited! That's the kind of energy you want in a photographer – someone who's just as invested in making your dreams come true as you are.

We talked about locations, lighting, outfits – all the things. I wanted something that felt a little edgy, a little chic, but still super warm and personal. We ended up finding this amazing spot that had the perfect backdrop for the car, and then also some softer, more natural elements for just Tanner and me. It was the perfect mix. I wore this beautiful flowy dress that just made me feel like a goddess, and Tanner looked so handsome, as always. We just wanted to feel good, feel ourselves, and let the love shine through.

The Shoot Day: Nerves, Laughter, and So Much Love

The day of the shoot was so fun! There's always a little bit of nerves before a big shoot, right? Like, will it turn out how I imagine? Will I look awkward? But Erin is just so good at putting us at ease. She had us laughing and just being ourselves. We started with some shots with the Porsche, and honestly, it felt like we were in a movie! Tanner was so cute, showing off the car a little bit, and I just felt so beautiful and strong, carrying our baby girl. It was such a powerful feeling, being pregnant and getting to celebrate it in such a unique way.

Then we moved on to some more intimate shots, just Tanner and me, holding my belly, looking at each other. Those are always my favorite. The ones where you can just see the pure love and anticipation in our eyes. We talked about Stella and Ozzy, and how excited they are to be big sisters. We talked about Cherry, and all the dreams we have for her. It was just a really sweet, emotional time. I remember just looking at Tanner and thinking how lucky I am to have him as my partner, my best friend, and the father of our girls. He's truly the best, and I couldn't imagine doing any of this without him.

Why This Shoot Was More Than Just Photos

For me, this shoot was about so much more than just getting pretty pictures (though we definitely got those!!). It was about celebrating a dream – both the dream of having this amazing car, and the even bigger dream of growing our family. It was about marking this moment in time, this fleeting season of pregnancy, before our lives change forever (again!) with Cherry's arrival. It was about showing our girls, when they're older, that we chased our dreams, big and small, and we celebrated every step of the way.

I think sometimes we get so caught up in the everyday hustle that we forget to pause and really acknowledge these big moments. Maternity shoots, family photos, even just a simple selfie – they're all ways to freeze time, to remember how we felt, what we looked like, who we were in that exact moment. And for this one, with the Porsche, it just felt like a perfect blend of our personalities, our journey, and our excitement for the future.

So, if you're thinking about a maternity shoot, or any kind of special photoshoot, my advice is this: go for it. And don't be afraid to think outside the box! What makes you, YOU? What dreams are you chasing? What makes your heart sing? Incorporate those things. Find a photographer who truly sees your vision. And just let yourself be present, be joyful, and soak in every single second. Because these moments, these memories, are truly priceless. :,)
