Our First Christmas with Baby Cherry: Pure Magic & Messy Memories

Hey, my loves! Lo here, and oh my goodness, I just had to sit down and spill all the beans about our Christmas this year. Honestly, it feels like just yesterday I was sharing my pregnancy journey with you all, and now here we are, celebrating Cherry’s very first Christmas! My heart is just bursting, like, truly. Every single year Christmas is special, right? But this year? This year felt different. It felt… complete. And a little bit chaotic, but in the best way possible, you know? Like, the kind of chaos that makes you smile and shake your head and then pull everyone in for a big hug. That’s our life, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

I remember last year, we were so excited, anticipating Cherry's arrival, dreaming about what life would be like as a family of five. And now, she’s here, a tiny, perfect little human who just makes everything sweeter. I mean, she really was the best Christmas present this year, hands down. She just brings this calm, peaceful energy to our home, even amidst the usual Beeston holiday madness. It’s like she’s always been here, and I couldn’t imagine our family without her now. It’s wild how quickly your heart expands to make room for another little soul. I swear, I thought I was at max capacity with Stella and Ozzy, but nope, Cherry came along and just blew that out of the water. My love for them just keeps growing and growing. It’s sm crazy.

The Morning Mayhem (The Good Kind!)

Okay, so let’s talk Christmas morning. You know how it goes, right? The kids are up at the crack of dawn, practically vibrating with excitement. Stella and Ozzy were SO ready to see what Santa brought. Tanner and I, on the other hand, were probably still half asleep, trying to remember if we put out the milk and cookies the night before hahah. But that’s the magic of it, isn’t it? That pure, unadulterated joy that only kids can bring. Cherry, bless her heart, was just along for the ride. She woke up to all the noise and excitement, but she was just chilling, taking it all in with her big, curious eyes. It was the sweetest thing. We had her in her cute little Christmas onesie, and she just looked like a tiny, perfect little elf. I couldn't stop taking pictures, ngl. Tanner was probably rolling his eyes at me, but idc, these are the memories I want to hold onto forever. :,)

We have our little traditions, of course. We always start with stockings, then move onto the bigger presents. Stella and Ozzy were ripping through paper like it was their job, and it was just so fun to watch their faces light up. This year, we made sure to have some special little things for Cherry too, even though she won't remember it. Just some soft toys and a cute little book. It’s more for us, honestly, to include her in everything. And to see Stella and Ozzy interact with her, showing her their new toys, it just melts my heart. They’re such good big sisters. They’re always trying to make her laugh, and it’s the cutest thing ever. I feel like my heart is just a puddle on the floor when I watch them together.

Family Time & Food Comas (The Best Kind!)

After the present frenzy, it’s all about family time. My mom always comes over, and it’s just so special to have her here. She’s seriously the best mom in the world, and seeing her with her grandkids, especially with Cherry, just fills me with so much gratitude. She raised me as a single mom, and she taught me everything I know about strength and love. So having her here, sharing these moments, it’s just everything to me. We usually have a big breakfast – Tanner’s famous cinnamon rolls (he’s actually a really good baker when he tries, don’t tell him I said that hahah) and some other yummy stuff. It’s always a feast, and we all end up in a food coma by noon, which is exactly how it should be on Christmas, fr.

The afternoon is usually pretty chill. We play with the new toys, maybe watch a Christmas movie. This year, Cherry spent a lot of time napping in my arms or Tanner’s, and honestly, those quiet moments were some of my favorites. Just holding her, feeling her tiny breaths, and looking at her perfect little face. It’s a reminder to slow down, you know? To really be present. Because even though the holidays are busy and sometimes stressful, these are the moments we’ll look back on and cherish. I mean, she's only going to be this little once. I try to remind myself of that constantly, especially when I'm tired or feeling overwhelmed. Just soak it all in, Lo. Soak. It. All. In. :,)

Embracing the Imperfect & Making New Traditions

I feel like sometimes we put so much pressure on ourselves to have the “perfect” Christmas, right? Like, everything has to be Pinterest-worthy and everyone has to be smiling perfectly in every photo. But honestly, our Christmas was far from perfect in that sense. There were tantrums (not from Cherry, thankfully, but from the older two hahah), there was a little bit of mess, and I’m pretty sure I spilled coffee on my Christmas sweater. But you know what? That’s what made it perfect for us. It was real. It was us. And that’s what I love about our life. It’s authentic, it’s a little bit messy, and it’s full of so much love.

With a new baby, things definitely shift. Our old traditions might need a little tweaking, and that’s totally okay. Maybe instead of staying up late wrapping presents, we go to bed a little earlier and accept that some things might not be perfectly arranged. Maybe instead of a super elaborate dinner, we opt for something a little simpler. It’s all about adapting and finding joy in the new rhythm of our family. And honestly, seeing Christmas through Cherry’s eyes, even though she’s so little, just gives everything a fresh, new sparkle. It’s like experiencing it for the first time all over again.

Tanner was, as always, my hype man throughout the day. He’s so good with the girls, and he just makes everything more fun. He was helping Stella and Ozzy with their new toys, making Cherry giggle, and just generally being the best dad and husband a girl could ask for. I’m so grateful for him and for the beautiful family we’ve built together. I mean, look at us! Five of us now. It’s wild. It’s wonderful. It’s everything.

Looking Ahead & Cherishing Every Moment

So yeah, our first Christmas with baby Cherry was just pure magic. It was a beautiful reminder of how much my life has changed, and how much my heart has grown. I love all my girls so much – Stella, Ozzy, and my sweet little Cherry. And my guy, Tanner, he’s my rock. I couldn’t do any of this without him. We’re so blessed, and I try to remember that every single day, especially during these special times.

I hope you all had an amazing day too, whatever you were doing, wherever you were. Whether it was big and boisterous or quiet and cozy, I hope you found moments of joy and connection. And if you’re a new mom, or expecting, just know that your first Christmas with your little one will be unforgettable, no matter how it unfolds. Embrace the mess, soak in the snuggles, and cherish every single imperfectly perfect moment. Because those are the memories that truly matter. Sending you all so much love! ❤️🎅🏼🎄
